
European Envoys Eye Wider Education Partnership with Nepal
Education and Sports Minister Pokharel held a courtesy meeting with ambassadors and representatives from the European Union and its member countries at the ministry. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and possible cooperation in Nepal’s education sector.\n\nDuring the discussion, the European representatives expressed interest in supporting Nepal’s education priorities in the changed political context. They showed willingness to continue cooperation in the education sector and move forward with stronger partnership, especially in higher education.\n\nMinister Pokharel thanked European countries for their continued support to Nepal’s education development. He said the government is prioritizing reforms in school education, including inclusion, infrastructure development and teacher capacity-building.\n\nThe meeting also discussed expanding access to technology in education, promoting digitalization, strengthening higher education cooperation, and using European expertise to support Nepal’s planned higher education restructuring.
