Women Minister Sita Badi Meets Japanese Ambassador Maeda Toru

Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Sita Badi held a courtesy meeting with Japan’s Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Mr. Maeda Toru, at the ministry on 17 April 2026.

During the meeting, both sides discussed Nepal-Japan’s long-standing friendly and cooperative relations, social development, child rights, respect and dignity of senior citizens, and inclusive development. Minister Badi briefed the ambassador about the policies and programs taken by the Government of Nepal in the areas of rights, protection and empowerment of women, children and senior citizens.

The ministry said the Japanese ambassador expressed confidence that Japan’s cooperation in Nepal’s social and human development sector would continue. Both sides also expressed hope that the meeting would further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas related to women, children and senior citizens.
