Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Sita Badi held a courtesy meeting with representatives of United Nations agencies based in Nepal on 2083 Baisakh 9.

According to the ministry, the meeting included UN Women Nepal Country Representative Patricia Fernandez-Pacheco, along with representatives from IOM, UNFPA, UNICEF and UN Women.

During the meeting, discussions were held on women’s empowerment, gender equality, child rights, dignified life for senior citizens, social inclusion and sustainable development. Both sides also exchanged views on making cooperation between the Government of Nepal and UN agencies more effective, result-oriented and well-coordinated.

Minister Badi stated that the rights, safety, dignity and empowerment of women, children and senior citizens remain a high priority of the Government of Nepal. She also thanked the UN agencies for their support in these sectors.
