The Government of Nepal has appointed Kiran Timilsina as Executive Director of the Software Development and Operation Center, according to a notice issued by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM). The appointment was made following a Cabinet decision on Asoj 2, 2083, after completion of the selection process for the vacant executive director position.

The OPMCM had issued an open call for applications on Bhadra 19, 2083 under Section 13 of the Software Development and Operation Committee (Formation) Order, 2083. Applications received in response to the vacancy were evaluated by the Executive Director Selection Committee through a prescribed process that included assessment of educational qualifications, experience and training, evaluation of a business action plan, presentation of the plan and an interview.

Following the assessment, the selection committee recommended qualified candidates to the Council of Ministers in accordance with the Executive Director Selection Procedure, 2083. Based on that recommendation, the Cabinet selected Timilsina for the position. The official notice identifies his address as Jumla-10, Jumla.
