The Government of Nepal, on the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Sports, has decided to increase remuneration for personnel working in community schools, taking into account the government salary increase from fiscal year 2083/84. The decision covers early childhood development/pre-primary facilitators, school assistant employees, school helpers, and teachers employed under teaching-support grant quotas at the basic and secondary levels.

At present, the federal government provides monthly remuneration grants of Rs 12,000 to early childhood/pre-primary facilitators, Rs 15,000 to school assistant employees and Rs 10,000 to school helpers. Under the new decision, each category will receive an additional Rs 5,000 per month, effective from Shrawan 2083.

The government has also decided that teachers working under teaching-support grant quotas in schools with no approved teacher positions will receive remuneration equivalent to the starting salary of government teachers. Teachers at the secondary level, Grades 9–10, will be paid at the starting rate of a third-class secondary teacher, while those teaching Grades 6–8 will receive the starting salary of a third-class lower-secondary teacher. The ministry estimates that implementing the increases will require an additional Rs 4.68 billion (Rs 4 arba 68 crore 98 lakh 30 thousand) in the current fiscal year, with funding to be arranged following concurrence from the Ministry of Finance.
