The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has issued a public notice after receiving information that unknown individuals have been making phone calls in the name of the Prime Minister’s Office. According to the notice, a person had allegedly called the chief administrative officer of ward no. 13 of Deumai Municipality, Ilam, pretending to speak on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Office and using abusive language.

The PM Office has strongly condemned such activities and stated that misuse of its name to threaten, pressure, or mislead public officials is illegal and unacceptable. It has directed concerned security agencies to investigate the incident, identify the person involved, and take legal action.

The notice also requests government offices, local levels, public officials, and citizens to immediately inform the PM Office or nearby security agencies if they receive suspicious calls or messages claiming to be from the Prime Minister’s Office. The office clarified that it does not support or protect any individual involved in such misuse and warned that legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
