Nepal Airlines to Operate Special Flights to Dubai and Dammam for Nepalis in West Asia

Summary:

Nepal Airlines will run special flights from April 3 to 5, 2026, to support rescue and travel facilitation for Nepalis affected by the security situation in West Asia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced special Nepal Airlines flights to support the rescue and movement of Nepali citizens in West Asia. The decision followed a meeting on 31 March 2026 involving officials from the Foreign Ministry, Tourism Ministry, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and Nepal Airlines, held on the initiative of Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal.

According to the ministry, regular flights to the affected areas had been suspended since 28 February 2026 due to ongoing tensions and security concerns in West Asia. Nepal Airlines will operate special flights on the Kathmandu-Dubai-Kathmandu and Kathmandu-Dammam-Kathmandu routes from 3 to 5 April 2026. The ministry thanked Nepal Airlines for arranging the flights and National Insurance Company Limited for helping facilitate the required insurance.

The ministry also said that on 1 April 2026, a Kuwait Airways flight landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa carrying 291 passengers and the bodies of nine Nepali citizens who had died in Kuwait due to reasons unrelated to the current situation.
