The Government of Nepal has expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for granting a royal pardon to 111 Nepali inmates on the occasion of Eid Al Adha 2026. In a press release issued on July 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the decision as a reflection of the deepening friendship and cordial bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE.

According to the ministry, the pardon was granted in response to requests submitted by the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi under instructions from the Government of Nepal. The ministry welcomed the UAE government’s decision and acknowledged it as a positive gesture toward Nepali citizens serving sentences in the country.

The pardoned Nepali nationals will be able to return to Nepal after completing the required legal and administrative procedures, provided they have no other pending legal cases or travel restrictions under UAE law.
