The Government of Nepal has thanked the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for granting a royal pardon to 33 Nepali inmates on the occasion of Ramadan 1447 AH (2026). In a statement issued on June 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere appreciation and gratitude for the decision.
The ministry said the pardon was granted following a request made by the Government of Nepal through the Embassy of Nepal in Riyadh. Nepal described the gesture as a reflection of the longstanding friendship, goodwill and cordial bilateral relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia.
According to the statement, the pardoned Nepali inmates will be able to return to Nepal after completing the required legal procedures in Saudi Arabia.
