The Department of Prison Management has issued a fourth notice to dispose of obsolete and unusable electronic equipment, including desktop computers, laptops, printers, routers, monitors, keyboards, mice, cables, headphones and related accessories. The department said the items had already been put up for auction but remained unsold, prompting it to proceed through a direct negotiation process under the applicable public property disposal provisions.
Interested Nepali individuals, firms or companies must submit sealed applications within seven days of publication of the notice. Applicants are required to provide citizenship or company registration documents, tax clearance and other supporting papers, and must deposit 20 percent of the minimum assessed value as earnest money in the specified government revenue account. The department has fixed the negotiation session for Ashwin 27, 2083 at 11:00 am, with bidders or their authorized representatives required to attend.
The attached valuation schedule lists 18 categories of electronic assets, including multiple desktop CPU assemblies, Dell and Acer laptops, Canon printers, Cambium routers, LED monitors and computer peripherals. The schedule places the combined minimum disposal value at approximately Rs 415,095.81, inclusive of the prescribed tax calculation shown in the valuation table. The department will accept the highest eligible offer, while proposals below the minimum assessed value will not be approved.
The buyer will also be responsible for removing the purchased equipment and paying applicable VAT and other taxes, while government charges and legal requirements related to disposal must be borne according to the notice. The move is intended to clear out outdated state-owned electronic assets that are no longer in regular use and convert them into recoverable government revenue.
