IEDI Publishes Final List of Startups Recommended for Government-Backed Loans

Share

Summary:

Nepal’s Industrial Enterprise Development Institute has published the final list of startup projects recommended for financing under the Startup Enterprise Loan Programme, following evaluation of applications submitted by aspiring entrepreneurs.

The Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI) has announced the final recommendation of startup enterprises eligible to proceed toward loan financing under the government’s Startup Enterprise Loan Programme. The recommendation follows the evaluation and selection process prescribed under the relevant startup loan operating procedure, with projects assessed on the basis of submitted proposals and prescribed eligibility criteria.

The notice includes an extensive list of recommended enterprises, identifying applicants through their application numbers, business or project names, and operating addresses. The selected ventures cover a broad range of sectors and locations across Nepal, reflecting the government’s effort to expand entrepreneurship and encourage innovative and employment-generating businesses beyond major urban centres.

IEDI has clarified that recommendation under the programme is part of the financing process and selected applicants must still fulfil the required documentation, verification and other procedural conditions applicable to loan disbursement. Applicants are therefore expected to complete the remaining formalities with the concerned institutions in accordance with the startup loan procedure.

The programme is intended to provide easier access to finance for promising new enterprises that may otherwise struggle to obtain conventional business credit, while supporting innovation, enterprise creation and employment generation in Nepal.
