Summary:

The government has finalized nationwide activities for Civil Service Day 2083 on Bhadra 22, combining an official ceremony with office clean-ups, blood donation, tree plantation and programmes promoting professional and accountable public administration.

The Government of Nepal will observe Civil Service Day 2083 on Bhadra 22 under the slogan “Professional and Creative Administration: Development, Prosperity and Good Governance.” A central ceremony committee chaired by the Chief Secretary and a programme coordination subcommittee comprising senior officials from major government bodies have been formed to organize the observance.

Government employees have been instructed to participate in cleaning their respective office premises on the morning of Bhadra 22. The programme also includes a blood-donation campaign coordinated with the concerned health authorities and Nepal Red Cross Society, along with tree-plantation activities to be organized with support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment and related agencies.

The main formal ceremony will take place from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at the open area in front of the old National Assembly building inside Singha Durbar. The programme will include remarks from senior officials and a presentation on the current status, challenges and future direction of Nepal’s civil service, with employees of ministries, commissions, secretariats, offices and public agencies expected to attend.

Provincial governments, district-level bodies and all local governments have also been directed to organize programmes such as clean-up campaigns, tree plantation, blood donation, sports activities, interaction programmes and formal ceremonies. The nationwide observance is intended to reinforce professionalism, accountability, service delivery and good governance throughout the civil administration.
