he Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security, through the federal affairs ministry, has called on municipalities and rural municipalities to submit details of their work in combating human trafficking and transportation. The recognition will be presented as part of the upcoming 20th National Day Against Human Trafficking and Transportation, 2083.
According to the notice, a central ceremony committee chaired by the concerned minister has decided to honour two local governments from across the country that have demonstrated outstanding performance in trafficking prevention and control. Interested local levels have been asked to submit applications within the specified deadline, along with evidence of their programmes and achievements.
Applicants are required to provide information on whether anti-trafficking issues have been incorporated into local policies, programmes and budgets, the establishment and functioning of the Local Committee for Controlling Human Trafficking (LCCHT), the number of committee meetings held during the fiscal year, and actions related to prevention, rescue, repatriation, rehabilitation, coordination and cooperation with relevant agencies.
The assessment will also consider coordination with the District Committee for Controlling Human Trafficking, as well as whether the local government has received the same recognition during the previous 10 years. The initiative is intended to highlight effective local-level practices and encourage stronger institutional action against human trafficking.
