The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene has expressed serious concern over recent incidents involving assaults on doctors and health workers and vandalism at health institutions. The ministry said the Government of Nepal and concerned authorities have already taken necessary action regarding such incidents and emphasized the need to prevent further disruption in the health sector.

The ministry described healthcare as an extremely sensitive, life-saving and essential public service, stressing that every citizen has the right to receive health services. At the same time, it said citizens also share a responsibility to respect the sensitivity of healthcare delivery and the difficult conditions in which medical professionals and institutions provide treatment.

Hospitals have been urged to continue treatment regularly and without interruption, while maintaining an environment free from obstruction to patient care. The ministry also appealed to all concerned bodies to cooperate and coordinate in creating a safe environment for both patients and health professionals, concluding with a call for collective support to keep essential health services running smoothly.
