Nepal Confirms Renamed Health Ministry’s English Name as “Ministry of Health and Food Safety”

The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene, through its Internal Administration Branch, has issued a circular regarding implementation of the ministry’s revised name. The change follows the Government of Nepal (Allocation of Business) Rules, 2083, approved by the Council of Ministers and published in the Nepal Gazette on Baisakh 30, 2083.

According to the circular, the ministry’s official Nepali name has been changed to “स्वास्थ्य तथा खाद्य स्वच्छता मन्त्रालय” (Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene). The notice further clarifies that the ministry’s official English name will be “Ministry of Health and Food Safety.”

All subordinate agencies and institutions under the ministry have been instructed to implement the revised naming arrangement as soon as possible in accordance with the government decision. The circular is dated Jestha 5, 2083.
