The Ministry of Health and Population, through its Employee Administration Branch, has issued an urgent notice concerning attendance and deployment of staff in an effort to make health-service delivery simpler, more accessible and effective. The ministry said decisions had previously been made regarding gazetted ninth- and tenth-level employees of various groups, sub-groups and posts under the Nepal Health Service, including recalling employees working on deputation and directing them to return to the institutions where their sanctioned posts are located.

According to the notice, the ministry has received information that some employees have still not reported to their permanent duty stations despite earlier correspondence and decisions. It has therefore instructed all employees whose deputation assignments have been cancelled or recalled to immediately report for duty at the institution where their official post is maintained.

The ministry further warned that employees who fail to report to their designated offices may face action under prevailing law. It also said heads of offices who fail to relieve recalled employees and send them to their permanent postings with the required official release/transfer documentation (ramana) may also be subject to legal action.
