Kathmandu, Baisakh 29 — A tragic bus accident on the B.P. Highway at Ghoptebhir–8, Ward No. 20 of Belaka Municipality, Udayapur District, on Baisakh 27, 2083, claimed the lives of 7 people and left 20 others injured.
Following the incident, immediate rescue operations were carried out, and the injured were rushed for medical treatment. Prime Minister personally visited the accident site, hospital, and the homes of the deceased families to assess the situation, offer condolences, and direct authorities to provide necessary relief and support.
The Government of Nepal has formed a high-level investigation committee to identify the cause of the accident and recommend preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future. Preliminary findings indicate that overspeeding and possible technical issues may have contributed to the crash, while a detailed investigation is still underway.
The government has stated that road safety remains a serious national concern and has committed to strengthening transportation management and implementing stronger safety measures to reduce such accidents in the future.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured.
