The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has issued a public notice seeking opinions and suggestions on matters related to constitutional amendment. The notice says the government formed a Constitution Amendment Discussion Paper Preparation Taskforce, 2082 following a Council of Ministers decision dated 2082/12/16.
The taskforce is coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Chief Political Adviser Ashim Shah and includes representatives from major political parties represented in the federal parliament, along with senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Nepal Law Commission, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and other concerned bodies.
According to the notice, the taskforce’s meeting held on 2083/01/10 decided to collect feedback from all Nepali citizens and concerned stakeholders to make the constitution amendment process more participatory and inclusive.
Suggestions can be submitted within seven days to the taskforce secretariat at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, Kathmandu.
