The Ministry of Health and Population has directed hospitals to regularly update details of free beds and patients receiving free treatment through the Free Health Portal. The instruction was issued by the ministry’s Quality, Standards and Regulation Division on 2083/01/17.
According to the ministry, the portal was developed and brought into operation as part of the government’s governance reform action plan approved by the Council of Ministers. The portal aims to help manage free treatment services for poor, helpless and unclaimed patients.
The ministry has asked all federal government hospitals, as well as private hospitals and medical colleges through their respective associations, to update free bed availability and treatment details in real time on freehealth.mohp.gov.np. Hospitals have also been requested to download and follow the user manual available on the website.
For additional information and technical support, the ministry has asked hospitals to contact the Unified Health Information Management Section under the Department of Health Services or email it.section@mohp.gov.np.
