Women Minister Sita Badi Meets UN Women Delegation

Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Sita Badi held a meeting with a delegation led by Ms. Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda, Deputy Executive Director for Normative Support at UN Women, at the ministry on 2083 Baisakh 29.

During the meeting, both sides discussed gender equality, women’s empowerment, social inclusion, women’s leadership and participation, protection of the rights of marginalized communities, and cooperation with UN Women.

Minister Badi highlighted the ministry’s priorities, stating that the government is committed to ensuring rights, protection, empowerment, equal opportunity and dignity for women, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and vulnerable communities.

Ms. Gumbonzvanda expressed UN Women’s continued readiness to support Nepal in the areas of gender equality, women’s empowerment and inclusive development. The meeting was also attended by Christine Arab, UN Women Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, and Patricia Fernández-Pacheco, UN Women Nepal Country Representative.
