The Ministry of Health and Population has issued a notice instructing health science academies, health institutions and hospitals under the ministry to ensure continuity of their daily operations. The notice comes in the context of a recently issued ordinance concerning special arrangements for the removal of public office-holders, which has resulted in vacancies in certain institutional leadership positions.
To prevent disruption to medical treatment, academic administration and other regular institutional functions, the ministry has directed the heads of the respective departments, divisions or equivalent-level units within the concerned institutions to continue operating and managing daily activities. The arrangement is intended to ensure that essential health and academic services remain unaffected while leadership positions are vacant.
The ministry has asked institutions to contact it immediately if any uncertainty arises regarding implementation of the arrangement. It also urged all concerned officials to act responsibly so that hospital treatment services and educational programmes face no negative impact during the transition period.
