The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has circulated a request from the Ministry of Health and Population to all rural and urban municipalities regarding coordination and facilitation of the National Immunization Programme. The Health Ministry noted that support previously received from development partners for various immunization activities has been declining, creating challenges in programme management and budget allocation.

The ministry has emphasized identifying children who have missed vaccines and increasing their access to complete immunization. In the Terai and mountainous districts in particular, local levels have been asked to operate additional vaccination centres and community-level vaccination sessions alongside routine services. In metropolitan and sub-metropolitan cities, additional vaccination sessions have also been conducted at ward level on the last Saturday of every month.

Local governments have been requested to review the progress of previous vaccination sessions and ensure that communities receive regular vaccination services through outreach sessions where necessary. Areas with limited access to vaccination services, remote communities and locations where additional sessions are required should receive particular attention, while overcrowded vaccination centres may require additional sessions to improve service accessibility.

The Health Ministry has also requested metropolitan and sub-metropolitan municipalities to analyze population and service requirements across their wards and arrange vaccination centres at additional locations where necessary. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has asked all local levels to coordinate and facilitate implementation of these activities.
