Share

Summary:

Nepal has instructed all local governments to carry out activities assigned to them under the Trade Policy, 2081 Implementation Action Plan and submit annual progress reports to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has circulated the implementation action plan for Trade Policy, 2081, following a ministerial-level decision dated 2083/03/04 approving the workplan. The ministry has asked local governments to implement the activities assigned to them under the policy and ensure that progress is recorded and reported systematically.

According to the notice, municipalities and rural municipalities are required to send their annual progress details after carrying out the responsibilities identified for local levels in the implementation plan. The reports are to be submitted to the ministry through multilateral.trade@moics.gov.np, allowing the federal government to monitor progress under the national trade-policy framework.

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration subsequently forwarded the instruction to all municipalities and rural municipalities on Asar 22, 2083, asking them to act in accordance with the Industry Ministry’s letter. The full Trade Policy, 2081 Implementation Action Plan has also been made available on the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies website at www.moics.gov.np.
