The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has established an Emergency Control Room (ECR) with immediate effect following the recent flash floods in Rasuwa district, which caused major loss of life, infrastructure damage and reports of missing persons, including foreign nationals.
The control room will serve as the ministry’s central coordination point for search and rescue support, verification of information and consular assistance related to foreign nationals who have been affected by, reported missing in, or otherwise connected to the disaster. Diplomatic missions, international organisations, families of missing persons and members of the public have been asked to contact the ministry through the designated emergency hotlines, WhatsApp numbers and email.
The ministry has also urged the public to avoid circulating unverified information and to rely on official channels for updates. MOFA said it will continue publishing timely information on the situation through its official flash-flood update page.
