The Government of Nepal has invited public comments and recommendations on the draft Energy Consumption Enhancement and Export Strategy, 2083, as part of its efforts to develop a more practical and effective national energy strategy. According to a notice published by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation on Baisakh 11, 2083 BS, the draft was prepared by a high-level committee formed under the government’s Governance Reform Action Plan, approved by the Cabinet on Chaitra 13, 2082 BS. To further refine the proposed strategy and make it more practical and effective, the government decided to incorporate suggestions from relevant stakeholders. The consultation is open to government agencies, private-sector organizations, civil society, subject-matter experts and the general public, allowing them to provide recommendations before the strategy is finalized.
Interested stakeholders are requested to review the draft available on the ministry’s official website, www.moewri.gov.np, and submit relevant suggestions within three days of the notice’s publication.
