Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Khadak Raj Poudel held a collective courtesy meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Nepal and ambassadors of EU member states based in New Delhi on 25 May 2026.
During the meeting, the ambassadors expressed interest in supporting Nepal’s tourism, culture and civil aviation sectors. They also discussed areas where European countries could cooperate in Nepal’s tourism development and promotion.
Minister Poudel said tourism can make an important contribution to Nepal’s economic and social development. He highlighted mountain tourism, adventure tourism, yoga, meditation, wellness tourism and cultural tourism as important areas for Nepal’s tourism promotion.
The minister also informed the ambassadors about Nepal’s efforts to improve aviation safety and remove Nepal from the EU aviation safety list. He expressed hope that European tourists would visit Nepal during the upcoming Wellness Tourism Year 2027 and Visit Nepal 2085 campaign.
