Nepal’s Ministry of Finance has opened applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Alternative Development Finance Fund under the Alternative Development Finance Mobilization Act, 2083. The notice, first published on 2083/06/16, seeks eligible candidates for recommendation to the government through a formal selection process. Applicants must be at least 35 and under 65 years old and hold a master’s degree in areas such as financial analysis, economics, management, commerce, public development administration, commercial law or engineering.
Candidates are also required to have at least 10 years of managerial experience in fields including infrastructure, project development, public-private partnerships, investment promotion, banking, finance, industrial management or international financial institutions. The selection process further requires applicants to submit evidence of qualifications and experience, along with a self-declaration and other prescribed documents.
A major part of the application is a professional strategy and four-year business action plan of no more than 5,000 words. The plan must cover Nepal’s investment and infrastructure environment, the international landscape for alternative development finance, analysis of the relevant law, the fund’s strategic direction, institutional governance, organizational capacity and implementation challenges. Candidates must submit both hard and soft copies under specified sealed-envelope procedures.
Applications must be submitted to the Ministry of Finance, Singha Durbar, within 14 days of the notice, with 2083/06/29 set as the deadline unless the final day falls on a public holiday. The recruitment marks another step toward operationalizing Nepal’s alternative development finance framework, which is intended to mobilize new sources of capital for infrastructure and development projects.
