Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that the Department of Drug Administration (लागु औषध नियन्त्रण विभाग) has formally begun providing its services from Singhadurbar. According to the notice dated September 22, 2026 (Ashoj 6, 2083), the department was established following a Council of Ministers decision dated Ashadh 32, 2083.

The government established the department to make drug-control-related work more systematic, effective and coordinated. The notice states that the department has been operating from premises within Singhadurbar since Bhadra 31, 2083.

With the new department becoming operational, functions previously carried out by the Drug Control Section of the Ministry of Home Affairs will now be handled by the Department of Drug Administration.
