Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a public holiday for members of the Muslim community on Bhadra 10, 2083, on the occasion of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. The ministry issued the notice after receiving information from the Muslim Commission regarding the date of the religious observance.

According to the ministry, the government had earlier made provisions for a public holiday for Muslim religious communities on Prophet Muhammad’s birthday through a notice published in the Nepal Gazette on Chaitra 18, 2082. The Muslim Commission subsequently informed the government that the occasion would fall on Bhadra 10 this year, prompting the ministry to formally communicate the holiday date.

The Home Ministry also extended its greetings and best wishes to all Muslim religious communities in Nepal on the occasion. The public notice was issued on Bhadra 9, 2083 by the ministry in Singhadurbar, Kathmandu.
