The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has directed all rural municipalities and municipalities to implement activities falling under the responsibilities of local governments in the National Export Strategic Action Plan for Wheat, Ginger and Chhurpi (2083–2085). The direction was issued following a request from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies said the action plan was approved by the Government of Nepal on 2083/03/17. Local governments have been asked to carry out the activities assigned to them under the plan and provide details of their annual progress and implementation status to the concerned ministry.

According to the correspondence, local levels are required to send the requested annual progress details to multilateral.trade@moics.gov.np. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has also asked its relevant sections to circulate the information to all local levels and upload the correspondence to the ministry’s website.

The notice also states that the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has published the National Export Strategic Action Plan for Wheat, Ginger and Chhurpi on its website. The initiative is intended to support implementation of the government’s export-related strategies through coordination among federal and local authorities.
