The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene, through the National Health Training Centre, is organizing the 14th Rural Health Workers’ Conference in collaboration with the Nick Simons Institute (NSI). The conference aims to encourage health workers serving in rural areas, recognize their contributions and promote the exchange of practical clinical knowledge and experience. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has asked all municipalities and rural municipalities to coordinate with eligible health workers and facilitate submission of case stories.
Eligible participants include different categories of frontline health personnel working in hospitals, primary health care centres, health posts, basic health centres and other health facilities, including health assistants, auxiliary health workers, staff nurses and auxiliary nurse-midwives. Applicants must prepare a case story based on their own work experience, describing the background, main case or intervention, challenges, actions taken, outcomes and conclusion. The attached format also requests the applicant’s name, position, organization, years of service, contact details, email and PAN number, along with supporting photographs where relevant.
Case stories must reach the organizers by Kartik 30, 2083, after which participants will be selected on the basis of the submitted stories. The document says submissions can be made through the Case Story Submission section at https://conference.nsi.edu.np, with coordination also available through the National Health Training Centre and Nick Simons Institute. Selected health workers will be invited to participate in the three-day national conference and share their field experiences with other health professionals.
The initiative is intended to document successful and instructive experiences from rural health facilities, give frontline workers a national platform and help spread practical solutions that can improve health-service delivery in underserved communities. Local governments have been asked to circulate the notice widely and assist interested health workers in completing and submitting their case stories within the deadline.
