The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration issued the circular on 2083/04/04 as part of efforts to achieve the objectives of Nepal’s Third Multisector Nutrition Plan. Local governments must report progress on both the federally supported Multisector Nutrition Programme and nutrition activities included and implemented through their own annual programmes. The required report is to be generated using the programme’s online reporting system and submitted by the end of Shrawan 2083.
The report must also be shared with the ministry, the relevant Provincial Policy/Planning Commission and District Coordination Committee. The circular provides separate email addresses for the ministry and all seven provinces and asks provincial nutrition coordinators to coordinate with local governments, consolidate province-level information and forward reports to the ministry.
The attached annual reporting format requires local governments to provide detailed information on programme coverage, participating wards, budget sources and expenditure, meetings of nutrition and food-security coordination mechanisms, sector-wise nutrition activities, beneficiaries by age and sex, monitoring and supervision, implementation challenges, recommendations and achievements. It also seeks information on nutrition-related policies, grants received from federal and provincial governments, and the amount local governments themselves have allocated for nutrition programmes in FY 2083/84.
The document itself does not contain completed performance figures; rather, it establishes the reporting template and submission process that local governments must use to provide their annual nutrition-programme results. The system is intended to create standardized data for monitoring progress under the national multisector nutrition framework.
