The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed government hospitals across Nepal to operate Outpatient Department (OPD) services on Baisakh 18, 2083. The directive comes as Baisakh 18, 19 and 20 fall under three consecutive public holidays, raising concerns that routine hospital services could be disrupted.
The ministry said the extended holiday period could affect OPD operations in government hospitals and create difficulties for patients seeking regular medical care. To ensure that people can continue to access essential health services without unnecessary inconvenience, hospital administrations have been asked to make the necessary arrangements to run OPD services on Baisakh 18.
The ministry issued the press release requesting all concerned government hospitals nationwide to ensure implementation of the arrangement.
