A devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River at around 8:40 am on Bhadra 10, 2083 caused major loss of life and property and affected riverine areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha. The government said search, rescue and relief operations have been intensified and warned that the disaster has created significant challenges for emergency response and risk management in the affected areas.

In response, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has appealed to individuals, organisations and supporters in Nepal and abroad to contribute to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund. The government has made official donation facilities available through Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) and Himalayan Bank, alongside QR-based payment options. The appeal is aimed at supporting rescue operations, emergency relief and assistance for communities affected by the flood.

For Nepalis living abroad, non-resident Nepalis, foreign nationals and international institutions, the government has provided several mechanisms to send assistance. These include international card-payment gateways, Fonepay and NepalPAY QR codes accessible through supported Alipay+ and UPI services, cross-border UPI transfers from India, worldwide SWIFT bank transfers, and remittance platforms such as GME, Remitly, Wise and TapTapSend. The document lists designated government relief-fund accounts across several Nepali banks and stresses that all contributions should be directed to accounts under the name “Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.”
