The Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security has released a document highlighting the major achievements of Minister Sita Badi during her first 51 days in office. After assuming office on 2082 Chaitra 13, the ministry prioritized women’s empowerment, social inclusion, child rights, senior citizen welfare, rights of persons with disabilities, gender and sexual minority inclusion, and social security.

According to the document, the ministry identified 15 major priority areas and 28 tasks under the government’s 100-day work plan. Of these, 15 tasks have been completed and 13 have been started. Major policy and legal works include preparation of an integrated law concept on gender-based violence, work on the National Senior Citizen Policy, implementation action plan for the National Children Policy 2080, amendments to laws related to children, human trafficking and disability rights, and implementation of the ministry’s Employee Code of Conduct, 2083.

The ministry also reported progress in service delivery and institutional reform. It implemented the GIOMS digital system in all branches, introduced QR-based grievance submission directly to the minister, strengthened 24-hour helplines including 1145, 104 and 1098, started accessibility audits of federal ministries, prepared job descriptions with KPIs for employees, and began restructuring and business process re-engineering work. The ministry also carried out inspections of child correction homes, rehabilitation centres, senior citizen homes and child care centres.

The report highlights direct support activities such as air rescue of high-risk pregnant and postpartum women and newborns, rescue and protection of 30 street children, search for 679 missing children, and family reunification of 494 children. It also mentions diplomatic and coordination meetings with foreign ambassadors, UN Women and development partners, gender audit initiatives, support for vulnerable communities, free blue bus planning for women’s safe travel, and training programs on gender-responsive investigation, psychosocial counselling and child protection.
