The Ministry of Education and Sports has released a list of educational institutions in Nepal that have received permission to operate higher education programs under affiliation from foreign universities. The document, titled for the year 2082, includes 56 colleges and teaching institutions across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Biratnagar, Butwal, Chitwan, Itahari and other locations.
According to the list, these institutions are affiliated with universities from countries including the UK, Malaysia, the USA, India, Austria, Switzerland, Thailand and Scotland. The approved programs mainly include IT, computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, business administration, MBA, hospitality management, tourism, culinary arts, fashion, interior design and data science.
The ministry’s publication serves as an official reference for students and guardians to verify whether a college has government permission to operate foreign-affiliated programs in Nepal. It also helps clarify which specific programs each institution is authorized to run.
