Women Ministry Warns Against Discrimination, Misconduct and Illegal Charges in Service Delivery

The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens has issued a press release urging all concerned bodies to make services and programs delivered by the ministry and its subordinate offices more sensitive, accessible, transparent and effective.

The ministry has strictly prohibited any form of discrimination, misconduct, irregularity, illegal fee collection, lack of transparency, political influence or bias in the service delivery process. It has also warned against actions that make women, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and vulnerable communities feel insulted, unsafe or uncomfortable.

The ministry stated that ensuring the dignity, safety and respect of every citizen is a key responsibility of the state. It has requested citizens to file written or verbal complaints with the concerned authority if they face misconduct, neglect, violence or injustice.

The ministry said all complaints will be taken seriously and necessary investigation and legal action will be carried out through the concerned bodies. It also appealed for cooperation from citizens, stakeholders and service providers to help build an inclusive, safe and dignified society.
