The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that Nepal will observe official mourning following the death of former Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away in Doha on July 12, 2026. The notice highlights the close and friendly relations between Nepal and Qatar.
As a mark of respect, the government has decided that the national flag will be flown at half-mast on July 14, 2026 (Asar 30, 2083) at all government offices across Nepal and at the Embassy of Nepal in Doha.
The ministry issued the notice to inform all concerned about the government’s mourning decision and the flag protocol to be observed on that day.
