Nepal Organizes ‘Arogya Hike’ to Mark First International Arogya Day

Diplomats, government officials and members of the diplomatic community joined an Arogya-themed hike in Kathmandu to promote healthy living and wellness tourism.

On the occasion of the first International Arogya Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized an “Arogya Hike” along the Hattiban–Champadevi trail in Dakshinkali Municipality on Baisakh 5, 2083.

Ambassadors based in Kathmandu, members of the diplomatic community and senior government officials participated in the hike to express shared commitment toward wellness and healthy lifestyles.

Welcoming participants, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai highlighted Nepal’s proposal at the United Nations to observe April 15 every year as International Arogya Day. He also spoke about the government’s policy to develop Nepal as one of the world’s leading wellness tourism destinations. During the program, life science trainer Pratik Sharma demonstrated various practices of yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation.
