Nepal’s Hajj Committee has opened applications for Hajj 2027, allowing up to 1,300 Nepali Muslim pilgrims to participate and requiring an initial payment of Rs 200,000.

The Nepal Hajj Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs has invited applications from Nepali Muslim citizens wishing to perform Hajj in 2027 (Hijri 1448). The government has fixed Nepal’s quota at 1,300 pilgrims, while the expected duration of the pilgrimage is around 40 days. Interested applicants can download the official Hajj application form from the committee’s website and submit it within the announced application period.

Applicants are required to deposit a first instalment of Rs 200,000 toward the Hajj fee in the designated Nepal Hajj Committee bank account before applying. The application period runs from Bhadra 3 to Asoj 1, 2083 (August 19 to September 17, 2026). Required documents include copies of Nepali citizenship and an MRP or e-passport, the original bank deposit voucher, two recent passport-size photographs with a white background, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and a copy of a bank-account cheque belonging to the applicant or a family member.

Applicants who are unable to travel independently or are above 70 years of age must compulsorily take one assistant with them. The committee said priority will be given according to its stated selection criteria, including consideration for people who previously applied but could not travel and first-time applicants, with selection also following a first-come priority basis.
