Home Ministry Seeks Public Feedback on Draft Immigration Bill 2083

The Ministry of Home Affairs has invited citizens and stakeholders to submit suggestions within seven days on the draft Immigration Bill, 2083.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has prepared the draft Immigration Bill, 2083 to amend and consolidate Nepal’s existing immigration laws. The ministry has published the draft for public consultation as required by Section 6(2) of the Legislation Act, 2081.

According to the notice, the bill has been made public to collect opinions, suggestions and feedback from concerned stakeholders and the general public regarding the reasons for introducing the bill and its possible impacts.

The ministry has requested all concerned individuals and institutions to submit their feedback within seven days through the prescribed format. Suggestions can be sent to legalsectionmoha@gmail.com.

The draft bill proposes updated legal provisions to regulate the entry, stay and departure of foreign nationals in Nepal, as well as the departure and return of Nepali citizens. It also includes provisions related to visas, immigration checks, controlled areas, monitoring, deportation, offences and penalties.
