The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a public holiday for Nepali followers of Islam on the occasion of Mohammad Jayanti. The ministry said the holiday arrangement is in line with the public holiday provisions published earlier in the Nepal Gazette.

According to information received from the Muslim Commission, Mohammad Jayanti falls on Wednesday, Bhadra 10, 2083. The ministry therefore decided that the public holiday on that date will apply specifically to Nepali Muslim citizens.

The ministry also extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the entire Muslim community on the occasion of Mohammad Jayanti.
