Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal is set to pay an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 14 to 17 June 2026 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee.
During the visit, Minister Khanal will hold bilateral talks with Wang Yi in Beijing, where the two sides are expected to discuss matters of mutual interest aimed at further strengthening Nepal-China relations and expanding cooperation across various sectors. He is also scheduled to meet other senior Chinese leaders and dignitaries.
As part of the visit, the minister will participate in an Investment Conference organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing to promote foreign investment in Nepal. He will interact with members of the Chinese business community and highlight investment opportunities in the country.
The visit will also include engagement with the Nepali diaspora in China. Minister Khanal is scheduled to attend a reception hosted by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing and hold interactions with members of the Nepali community.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit is expected to contribute to advancing bilateral relations and enhancing economic and investment cooperation between Nepal and China. Minister Khanal will return to Kathmandu on 17 June 2026.
