The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has issued a circular to all rural municipalities and municipalities regarding the implementation of the Cleanliness Week Operation Guideline, 2083. The directive follows a request from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to circulate the guideline to provincial and local levels.
According to the guideline, the campaign will run from 2083 Baisakh 28 to Jestha 1 as a special campaign and will continue afterward as a regular cleanliness program. It applies to government offices, provincial offices, local levels, public educational institutions and public places.
The guideline aims to maintain clean, healthy and organized working environments, improve sanitation behaviour, and implement cleanliness standards effectively with minimum cost and maximum results. It includes standards for clean offices, clear notice boards and citizen charters, clean toilets, safe drinking water, proper waste management, clean canteens, organized storage, and accessible and service-friendly office spaces.
The ministry has requested local governments to coordinate with concerned bodies and implement the campaign effectively to support better public service delivery and a healthier public environment.
