Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle Wraps Up Three-Day India Visit with High-Level Talks

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle returned home on September 19 after completing a three-day visit to India at the invitation of the Indian government. On the first day of the visit, Wagle travelled from Kathmandu to New Delhi and held bilateral talks with Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Kartavya Bhavan-1. He also attended a programme hosted by the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi later that evening.

On the second day, Wagle met Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar at his official residence. Earlier, he participated in a diplomatic roundtable at the India International Centre, organised by former Indian foreign secretary Shyam Saran, and later joined another discussion involving senior government officials, business leaders, media representatives and policy experts.

On the final day, the finance minister attended a Constitution Day programme organised by the Nepali Embassy. He also participated in a Business Roundtable organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry at the India Habitat Centre and a Policy Roundtable held with support from the Delhi School of Economics and the Research and Information System for Developing Countries. According to the Finance Ministry, the visit also included interactions with the Nepali diaspora and media before Wagle returned to Kathmandu.
