The Ministry of Education and Sports has issued a notice stating that Tulasi Bhandari, a Library Officer working under the ministry, has been removed from government service. According to the notice, she had remained absent from duty for more than 90 consecutive days without approved leave.

The ministry says clarification was first sought through registered mail at her permanent address, and later a public notice was published in Gorkhapatra giving her time to submit an explanation with evidence. However, the ministry states that no satisfactory clarification was received within the given deadline.

Following the legal process under the Civil Service Act and related rules, the ministry has decided to remove her from service in a way that does not disqualify her from future government service.
