The Government of Nepal has welcomed the recent announcement of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing it as a constructive move toward reducing tensions in West Asia.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal views the development as an important opportunity for dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution of differences. The government reiterated Nepal’s long-standing position in favor of resolving disputes through peaceful means.
Nepal also expressed concern over the humanitarian impact of the conflict and stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of civilians. The ministry stated that Nepal supports all international efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
