The Ministry of Finance has published the Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer details for fiscal year 2083/84, covering allocations to Nepal’s provincial and local governments. The document lists transfers under four major headings: equalization grants, conditional grants, special grants and matching grants.

According to the summary table, the federal government will transfer a total of Rs. 424.28 billion. Of this, Rs. 109.65 billion has been allocated to the seven provinces, while Rs. 314.62 billion will go to local levels, including metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities and rural municipalities.

By grant type, conditional grants make up the largest share at Rs. 245.81 billion, followed by equalization grants at Rs. 151.71 billion. The document also allocates Rs. 13.22 billion under special grants and Rs. 13.53 billion under matching grants.

The transfer book also separates allocations into recurrent and capital nature. Out of the total fiscal transfer, Rs. 361.19 billion is listed under recurrent spending and Rs. 63.08 billion under capital nature transfers.
